This
is the Green today, this was adopted as the village green
as the House was called the Green House This is peculiar
because it is on the boundary of the old village and not
in the centre.
Henry Harrison, who died in
1720, lived at the Green in a house which was rebuilt by
a later Henry (H.H. 1746). He was a maltster but also did
some farming, as had Edward Clarkson the previous owner.
He was a comparatively wealthy man worth about £640
at the time of his death. This included money owing and
'in the house' of £528.

The
house in which he lived had a parlour, a kitchen, a milkhouse,
a best chamber; a little chamber and a study. His farm stock
consisted of four cows, one sow and six pigs, a plough a cart,
coops (cart bodies without wheels) with hay and corn worth
£8 13s 4d. His trade is indicated by wheat and malt £35 together
with barley at Otley £15,15/-.This would be transported by
his four geldings and two mares using his five load saddles.
